The Challenge That Tested It All
ESVC is no ordinary student competition, it's Asia's largest solar-electric vehicle event, backed by NITI Aayog, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and major industry partners. Over 700 students from institutes across India participated, turning ideas into road-ready solar cars.
The main event, the ESVC-3000 rally, challenged every team to drive their solar-electric vehicle over 150 kilometres of public roads facing real traffic, variable weather, and the unforgiving test of endurance.
Before even reaching the track, teams underwent intense static and technical inspections, evaluating safety systems, electrical integrity, business plans, and cost analyses. It was a complete test of engineering, design, and discipline.
A Learning Experience Beyond the Track
For us, ESVC was more than a competition it was a complete engineering journey. Every phase demanded teamwork, creativity, and perseverance. From the pre-event technical documentation to the final endurance rally, we learnt how to translate theory into real-world performance.
The Message Behind the Speed
It proves that student teams in India can design, build, and compete at standards that rival global benchmarks.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on ESVC 2025, we're grateful to the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) for organising the event, and to all partners including NITI Aayog, MNRE, AICTE, and NBC Bearings for fostering this ecosystem.
For Team SolarMobil, this is not the finish line it's the starting grid for what comes next. We're already preparing to take our seventh vehicle to the World Solar Challenge, carrying forward the same values of innovation, teamwork, and sustainable engineering.
"A solar-powered vehicle hitting 95 km/h on Indian roads is more than a technical feat: it's a glimpse into the future of clean mobility..."
